Week 19: Golden Moments

November 19, 2018
Hey family and friends!
Here are some experiences from this week!
-Walking home with some young single adult after an FHE and slipping in some fresh dog poop on the side walk! haha and thank goodness i didnt fall completely to the ground, but everyone saw it happen and one of them let me know that i just experienced a "golden moment". There are so many stray dogs and their poop all over the roads and i have sadly experienced many golden moments!
-Randomly as me and my companion are walking down a street, mostly older men, will just randomly say "Big, Small", not even to us but just as an observation. Because my companion is 4'9" and im 5'9" and  we've also been called "David and Goliath".
-Dinner at someones house this week was rice and then this broth stuff with what looked to have been just a chopped up chicken and vegetables. Ya it had the whole chicken in there, head, feet, EVERYTHING! But it was still really good!
-It was a members birthday this week and so she invited us over for dinner. I had just finished eating and i leaned back just a little bit in the chair i was in and all of a sudden the chair just broke! it was a small plastic chair and one of the legs just snapped off! I felt so bad, but the members were just so concerned if i was hurt, which I was just fine, except for the fact that i felt really fat for breaking their chair. But the dad just said that now they have something to remember me by!
-Teaching a lesson to twin 18 year old girls and one of them had a dog in their lap and as i was just talking with them at the beginning of our lesson i accidentally asked them how their spouse was instead of how their dog was!
Dog in Tagalog: aso
Spouse in Tagalog: asawa
Haha i quickly corrected myself, but it was too late cuz everyone just laughed at me so hard and so we all got a good laugh at that!
-At church on Sunday we were sitting down in the congregation and then as the Bishop starts the Sacrament meeting he starts to ask if the RS society president could be the chorister because the sister who normally does it wasnt there yet, but before the RS president could respond my companion raises her hand and points at me and so then the Bishop calls my name over the stand saying that i would be the chorister for the meeting! How great is it to have a companion who volunteers you to do things! Wow was it an interesting meeting for me because i found out im a horrible multi tasker and can't really sing songs and wave my hand in the air to keep a whole congregation together while singing a song!

Love you all and have an amazing week!
