Nothing too crazy happened this week,
We had our last interviews with President and Sister Hiatt, and i will miss them and i have learned lots from them!
I hit my 11 month mark tomorrow! june 11, 2019
Brother Danny and Sister Evelyn told us how they were able to serve this week by helping 4 yr old girl that had a broken leg from her mom stomping on it. They saw the little girl at the hospital while they were there for a check up and they both knew they needed to help her. So even though they barely have enough money for food themselves sometimes, they went and bought this little girl food and tried to help her the best they could. And when i told them that they are so amazing for doing that, they just shrugged it off and said that they are just doing what we taught them. And wow did that hit me, that really the things that we are teaching to people really do have an effect in the world, other than just adding to peoples knowledge. Danny and Evelyn are an example to me of keeping our baptismal covenant (mosiah 18:8-9). Also each week they remind me that it is an opportunity/blessing that we have to pay our tithing, each week without a doubt i see them reminding each other after sacrament meeting that they need to pay their tithing! Ahhh i just love them so much!
So we have been helping with a service project for the ward. They are doing a self reliance program of doing a garden and then as a team (members from the ward; its a stake level self-reliance program) they are to sell the vegetables that they grow. So we have helped set a fence around the property so no animals come into the garden. we have weeded, put up a arch thing to let the vines grow, dig holes for the bamboo posts, etc. Even Danny and Evelyn are a part of this!
On the way to church yesterday me and my companion heard kids playing, but we could see any kids until we looked to the side of the road, where theres about a 7 foot drop and thats the sewer. So yes we saw about 6 kids down in the sewers exploring in flip flops and eating mangos. Ewwww it was a thing to witness, it almost didnt phase me until i thought about it more and then almost lost my breakfast because i got a wiff of the smell from the sewer! But hey you could say its better that they were exploring and using their imagination instead of being addicted to a cell phone!
Well I love you all and hope your week is the best. I am still so grateful for your love and prayers on my behalf!
