Week 12: I LOVE the Filipino people!

October 1, 2018

I just want to share with you all again how much i love the people here. So just imagine me walking down a street in the Philippines. I have no make up on, I've got my fan in one hand and my sweat rag in the other and im using both constantly. And everyday without doubt I will have a Filipino tell me that I am beautiful and wow does that just make my day so much better!
So this week my goal was that if we taught about the restoration in a lesson this week I would recite Joseph Smith's First Vision by memory! And wow is God power real because every time i recited it I was able to do it. But one time while i was reciting it we were teaching this sister in front of her house and she has a water well right in the middle of where we were and actually the water well was my seat for the lesson. And so during the lesson there was this man that came and started using the well as we were teaching and so while i was reciting the first vision i had to talk louder than the guy cranking the arm of this well. And when i finished i realized that i was so focused on not messing up that i neglected to use my sweat rag and if you were to see me I probably looked like i had just ran a marathon! But even through all the distractions that we have to deal with in our lessons we can still feel the spirit manifesting to them that our message is true!
This week we had family week and oh man do the Philippine people know how to party! When we got to the church where the activity was at they were all dancing on the pavement right outside of the church and i mean everyone was dancing. The Relief Society, the Priesthood, the Bishop, the ysa, and all the kids. It was so fun to see everyone have so much fun. And at the end there was amazing food (as always)! I love this Church so much and the ability it has to bring people closer together and the knowledge that we have knowing that families can be together FOREVER! Wow do I love sharing the message about the restored gospel and all the many blessings we receive, like knowing families can be together forever, because a 14 year old boy (Joseph Smith) had a question about what church was the true church.
I love you all and I'm so grateful that you all get to experience Air conditioning while i sit in front of my electric fan to cool off! I know that Christ lives and that He has gone through everything that we are going through and if we ask for help through our prayers to our Heavenly Father that he will answer them! I'm so grateful for all your prayers, love and support!
